Have you ever been interested in playing Dungeons & Dragons, but could never find a group to play with? Intrigued by the concept of the game, but no idea how it works? Teens who are in grades 8-12 are invited to play at the Library every other Tuesday beginning November 7th!
What is Dungeons & Dragons? D&D is a fantasy tabletop role-playing game with each player controlling a single character. The overall storyline is determined by the Dungeon Master (DM) according to the rules of the game and the DM’s interpretation of those rules. Each character has their own specialty that will contribute to the adventure and the group’s strength. Eventually players will be able to meet non-player characters, engage in battle, defend their group, gather treasure, and solve problems. Every player will continue to gain strength and knowledge from each element of the campaign.
While D&D has extensive rules, new players should not be discouraged as they will be guided by an experienced Dungeon Master through developing their characters and beginning their first quest. Registration is open and players must attend each night or find someone to substitute if they are unavailable for a night. For more information or questions, please contact Youth Services Library Assistant Debbie Elliotto at firstname.lastname@example.org or 315-789-5303 ext 115. If you are hesitant about joining, please feel free to drop in to meet Debbie and ask questions.
