Did you know … our facilities staff cares for 156 acres of land and 500,000 square feet of building? We currently have four grounds crew members, four day custodians, 12 night cleaners and six general maintenance members; that translates to 39 acres per grounds crew member, 83,334 square feet per maintenance crew member, 125,000 square feet per day custodian and 41,667 square feet per night cleaner.

Did you know … our Head Start program has been educating children continually since 1965? Head Start will celebrate their 50th anniversary with an open house in the fall. The GCSD also runs a universal pre-kindergarten (UPK) program. Including West Street School, Head Start/UPK have seven sites in the county and serves 212 children. Our dedicated transportation department includes 51 staff members—28 drivers, 18 monitors, three mechanics and two support staff.
