Restaurant Delivers For Club

GENEVA -- The staff of H.J. Stead Company, Geneva's newest restaurant on Linden Street, had two gifts to the Boys & Girls Club of Geneva on Friday: donuts and money.
The staff delivered samples of the new, homemade donuts that are featured at the new restaurant and informed the Boys & Girls Club it would be sharing its tips with the club.
"The wait staff wanted to pitch in,'' said Sam Buyskes, the renowned Finger Lakes chef who developed the cuisine for this latest creative restaurant to locate along little Linden Street.
With H.J. Stead, the narrow one-way passageway just west of the U.S. Post office now boasts a number of innovative establishments, including Christopher Bates' famed FLX Table, The Linden, a sophisticated cocktail bar with surprisingly good Mexican fare, as well as the Finger Lakes Sausage and Beer and the Kashong bar.
Buyskes, who has a crowd of devotees who follow her from project to project, recently left the innovative Kindred Fare she helped create on upper Hamilton Street and is building a breakfast-lunch-dinner establishment on Linden now.
