The Geneva Community Center will be offering three art classes for adults (ages 15 and up) this summer. The classes include ceramics, printmaking, and weaving. Below you will find more information. Ceramic Basics for Adults - 5 Week Course - Instructed by Dee Westfall
Mondays from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
July 13th through August 17th (No Class August 10th)
Cost - $110 - includes use of materials and tools, firings, glazes,
and 1 bag of clay (additional clay may be purchased for $25 a bag)
Students will create two to four pieces of functional pottery (small pots, wine chiller, bowl, mug, etc.) with an emphasis on surface decoration in an open studio environment.
Minimum of 5 students for the class to happen.
Introduction to Weaving - 4 Week Course - Instructed by Kevin Carr
Wednesdays from 6:30pm to 8:00pm
Session 1 - July 1st through July 22nd
Session 2 - July 29th through August 19th
Cost - $80 per session - includes use of looms and an array of yarn choices
Students will learn the basics of weaving and create two small tapestries.
Minimum of 4 Students per Session for the class to happen.
Introduction to Printmaking - 6 Week Course - Instructed by Kevin Carr
Thursdays from 6:30pm to 8:30pm
July 9th through August 13th
Cost - $125 - includes use of inks, presses, screens, materials,
and 100 sheets of paper (additional paper may be bought for $6)
Students will learn the basics of three printmaking techniques: monoprinting, linoleum block printing, and screen printing.
Minimum of 7 Students for the class to happen.
Payment for each class must be received before first class.
